Committees

Grace Church has a wide variety of committees that support and maintain all aspects of our church and congregation. The combined efforts of each committee contribute to the organization, maintenance, stability, growth and out-pouring of Grace Church. All committee chairperson(s), liaisons, and members are volunteers and are extremely important to the purpose of our present and future goals.

If you are interested in volunteering with one of our committees, please contact the office.

Finance Committee

The primary role of the Finance Committee is to provide financial oversight for our church. This includes budgeting and financial planning, financial reporting, and the creation and monitoring of internal controls and accountability policies. A vestry liaison for the finance committee is appointed and is generally the Sr. Warden of the church vestry.

Building and Grounds

The Building and Grounds Committee is in charge of maintenance and repairs to the church building and rental properties, landscaping and grounds preservation, and any special building projects or necessary repairs (such as the annual spring cleaning).

Outreach

The Outreach Committee is committed to serving those in need in Northwest Arkansas and beyond through their own volunteer efforts and by supporting local, national, and international organizations such as Episcopal Relief and Development, Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter, Genesis House, The Manna Center, No Kid Hungry, and others. Members of this committee make community needs known to the congregation and recruit volunteers for various outreach efforts during the year such as delivering food and clothing donations to local organizations, serving meals in the summer to children and families in need, participating in mission trips, and collaborating emergency teams to assist in regional disaster relief. Committee members also organize the annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper in February to raise funds for community or international needs.

Christian Formation

Our Christian Formation Committee determines the curriculum used in our various Christian Formation classes and activities. These classes include Sunday Christian formation classes for all ages, the monthly Rector's Reading Group, summertime Grace on Tap, Single Malt Men of Grace, Fine Wine Women of Grace, Cottage Groups throughout the school year, and Episcopal Church Women. Each group uses different curriculum and study materials each year, including Christian Formation series written by our clergy.

Community Life Committee

The Community Life Committee is divided into three sub-committees: Hospitality, Prayer Chain

  • The Hospitality group oversees meals for members (as needed), coffee hour on Sundays, church potlucks, special dinners and receptions throughout the year, and welcoming new visitors to Grace.

  • The Prayer Chain is responsible for maintaining a list of prayer requests from within the congregation and beyond then submitting them to the Prayer Chain for prayer and reflection. This list is updated as requests are submitted or revised as prayers are answered.

Worship Committee

The Worship Committee focuses on addition to the logistics of worship, overseeing the Columbarium, storage for cremated remains, and meets with the clergy and vestry to discuss appropriate use of memorial donations, given in memory of a loved one.
